At six years old, Darshil had already experienced more loss than most people face in a lifetime.
His father died one month before he was born.
As he grew up, his mother worked tirelessly to provide for him, carrying the weight of raising him alone. Born into a Muslim family in a Muslim-majority nation in Southern Asia, Darshil learned early that life could be difficult and uncertain.
Then one day, he entered a Christian hostel. It was there that he heard the name of Jesus for the first time.
At first, the stories felt distant. They were simply words spoken by adults around him. But year after year, through Bible studies, youth gatherings, and people who faithfully invested in him, those words began to take root.
The Jesus he heard about became real, and, eventually, Darshil surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized.
For the first time, he knew he belonged, not because of what he had done, but because he was loved.
Many stories of redemption would end there, but his was just beginning.
When a Disciple Becomes a Disciple-Maker
As Darshil grew in his faith, he joined Reach Circles, a OneHope initiative that equips churches in hard-to-reach places to disciple young people and empower them to disciple others.
The idea is simple.
Someone reaches you, then you reach someone else. And the circle continues to grow.
Through interactive Bible discussions, leadership development, and a community of believers pursuing Christ together, Darshil began to understand that following Jesus was never meant to stop with him.
He wasn’t only called to believe, he was called to lead.
Today, at just 19 years old, Darshil facilitates Bible discussions among youth in his hostel and boldly shares the Gospel in his community.
“We are all part of one circle,” he says. “One day, this circle will cover the whole world for God’s glory.”
Another Circle Begins
Several villages away, another young man was beginning a very different journey.
Unlike Darshil, Falia grew up attending church from the moment he was born.
Faith was just a familiar and predictable part of family life. But familiarity is not the same thing as conviction.
He attended services, participated in church activities, and did what was expected. Yet he never imagined God would use him in any significant way. Falia believed leadership and ministry were for someone else to worry about.
Then his church invited him to join Reach Circles. It seemed like a small decision, but it transformed his future. As the training unfolded, Jesus became more than a tradition Falia had inherited. For the first time, he sensed that God had a purpose for his life.
The young man who once sat quietly in church began gathering friends, opening God’s Word, and sharing his faith.
What began as attendance became leadership, what began as routine became calling, and what began as one circle became another.
Hope That Multiplies
In places where Christianity is not widespread, transformation rarely begins with crowds.
More often, it begins with an invitation, ongoing conversations, and, eventually, a relationship. This is what makes stories like Darshil’s and Falia’s so powerful. One found belonging, the other discovered purpose, and both found Jesus.
And because someone invested in them, they are now investing in others.
The circle that began with a mother faithfully raising her son. The circle that began with a hostel worker opening God’s Word. The circle that began with a simple invitation to a discipleship group.
Now, that circle extends outward through villages, friendships, churches, and communities.
One circle becoming another, and another, and another.
Across this hard-to-reach nation, a new generation of disciple-makers is emerging today.
And with every new circle formed, the hope of Jesus reaches a little farther.
