Beth Cunningham, VP of North America at OneHope, shares the ministry’s story with host Scott Swan in WTHR-TV’s “Christian Newsmakers” based in Indianapolis. OneHope began in 1987 when founder Bob Hoskins received a vision of the next generation under attack by lies, and heard God call him to bring His Word to every child, through leaders. Starting with the first Book of Hope in El Salvador, OneHope has since reached over 2 billion children worldwide across more than 350 programs, evolving from print to film and digital media in each culture’s own heart language. The goal isn’t just knowledge but transformation: helping kids find identity, purpose, hope and belonging in Christ. Cunningham shares Mickey’s story, a boy from Kenya whose life was radically changed after encountering God through the Book of Hope, and explains three ways people can get involved: prayer, local advocacy, and giving to help reach children in hard-to-reach places. This year alone, OneHope is believing God for 158.5 million children reached, with a goal of 2 billion more by 2033.
